A Time for Change?

I had a chance this week to spend time in two schools that have been part of my journey for over ten years. Despite major shifts in the way these schools have become exemplars of effective learning - the administrative challenges of delivering these opportunities have not improved, in fact they appear to have got even harder to overcome.

We chatted about whether there was a ‘mood for change’.

“Yes - of course - but how do we facilitate it?”

Current energy and appreciation levels are low - not to mention the lack of funds.

A notable report from this Foundation for Education Development (FED) this week, suggests there is a ‘mandate for change’! It offers an important foundation to drive this conversation.

However if a new government is going to enable effective change then this needs to form part of an effort to reinvigorate the culture in schools in a way that presents ‘hope’ - to both adults and children.

As we move towards the launch of our LEARN 2030 campaign in September 2024 we are determined to contribute to a sense of ‘hope’, powering a chance to reflect, rethink and refocus on the place and purpose of learning in our schools and communities.

It seems vitally important that we recognise this moment of opportunity to trigger positive change. Come be a part of it!
