Education is the cornerstone of freedom

At a time of so much change and upheaval it is important to be reminded that learning brings ‘hope’. In a recent speech the new Secretary of State for Education said:

Education must be at the forefront of tackling the major global challenges of our time. 

Artificial intelligence, climate change, poverty, misinformation, polarisation, war and instability.  

Education puts us on the path to freedom.  

However for education to be at the forefront and to bring about those possibilities of a better future - it needs a change in the way in which a culture for learning is created - not just in our schools and formal educational institutions but in our communities - our homes, workplaces and everywhere in between. 

LEARN 2030 is our campaign to prioritise the power of learning, as we explore what it means to us to be a learner. 

We hope that this campaign might offer a grassroots movement to reposition the value of education in society, which will be supported by new policy initiatives from the Governments here in the UK and beyond  - allowing learning to really bring both ‘freedom’ and hope.
