Chapter 3 - Who is a learner?
In the last episode we highlighted our intention to turn a theoretical question, ‘who is a learner’, into a practical approach that allows us to advance our understanding and create individual positive learning identities. As we think about ‘who is a learner’ in this episode, we begin to see pervasive discourses that continue to dominate understandings and have a deep impact on the way we come to see ourselves and others.
In this episode learning is characterised by the knowledge, skills and strategies that we develop as well as the relational way in which these are practiced. It is that capacity to assume a social dimension to learning that enables the effective learner, characterised from our perspective by a high sense of value, voice and vision.
