Chapter 9 - Grow meaningful opportunities
This episode explores our approach in practice. A marked shift in a ‘learn to be’ as opposed to a ‘taught to become’ culture is the invitation for learners to have a sense that their engagement matters.
A commitment to participation not only has benefits for the role learners can then play in shaping the culture for learning, but it also leads to the learning encounters themselves becoming increasingly meaningful. We consider the impact of adults holding a restricted understanding of participation and how this limits the meaningfulness of the learning opportunity.
