New book alert! The Ethics of Unlocking Research With Children is officially released

Person holding new Learning Allowed book on Research ethics with children

πŸ“£ We are thrilled to announce the official release of our new book, The Ethics of Unlocking Research With Children: Creativity, Agency and Change

This book is a call to action demanding a fundamental re-evaluation of how we conduct research with children.

Rooted in the core belief that the current, adult-centric ethical framework is holding us back, this essential collection explores how we can move past outdated assumptions to truly recognize the child as an active meaning-maker in the research process.

Written as part of a collaborative project with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) - involving researchers from the UK and Canada, students and children.

A rewarding project conducted with Sue Kay Flowers (LJMU), in which Sam and Learning Allowed supported interactive sessions to generate/ capture ideas and then encourage writing.

If you are a researcher, practitioner, student, or policymaker struggling with the tensions between ethical oversight and genuine child participation, this book is for you.

Unlocking voices. Transforming practice.
If this is an area that you have thoughts or ideas about - please do get in touch as we look to start the second phase of this project.
